“You’re sitting on my hair!” | “Oh, we met on Tender.” | “Yeah… I was working on her the whole time.” | “I am just getting so emotional about how beautiful you are.”
All comments I heard within one hour of working with this hilarious couple. Of all the people I have photographed, I have never laughed so much as with these two. And for that, I am SO appreciative [I’ll explain why in a bit]. Shay and Emma have a way of building off each other. You tell them to “snuggle their noses” and they very lovingly smashed their faces together, and Emma starts giggling. Ask them to “pretend their whispering a secret to each other” and Emma breaks into a discussion of how good her shampoo smells, and then starts giggling. Practically anything I said really ended with Emma giggling… Anything! It was AWESOME! But I really do love this couple. Lovers of the food network and all things
After shooting at so many locations I knew, this week I took the brave risk of trying something new. Setting the date of our session, I chose to find a park I had never worked in before. I mean, why not expand my repitour, right? Well… I learned a valuable lesson this week about that. Showing up about fifteen minutes before my couple, I instantly hated the location. Before me, stretched over a half mile square was one… giant… field. A field. “Bells Mill Park” was one field……… For those of you who haven’t really seen my work, I REALLY like shady, even light! And here, perfect lighting was hard not easy to find. But, skirting along the edges of this grassland, we made it work with the help of some geese, a good bit of laughter, and a very well placed tree [You’ll know it when you see it].
It was for some reason QUITE cold this past weekend, so much so that the tiniest little breeze was making Shay cry.
And here’s where Emma shoved Shay for telling me that met each other on Tender. =]
Oh this tree! The one great feature of this field!
“Ready for me to jump?”
And the geese… Definitely not the best photo of the day but how could I not record this moment?
No, Emma and Shay are not engaged! I’m sorry this pic. makes it look an awful lot like they are… but it’s just such a cute pose!
It’s couples like these ethat make this job so much fun. =] Thanks you two. Adding it to my favorite sessions ever list.
