Do you ever look back on your life and find yourself AMAZED at where you were only a short time before? Today I am happy to post a collect of my favorite images from this past year. =D If you would like, you can check out last year’s favorites HERE!
Also, I’m going to have to finish writing this post at home! =D But I wanted to get these images done for the day! So, please chalk up this to my humanity and only having so many hours in the day. ENJOY THE IMAGES!
January 4th Update: This year I learned MANY things, some business related and a WHOLE lot more just life related.
I learned that a life devoid of building meaningful relationships is no life at all. Even if you are working your heart out towards a dream… I know now that accomplishing dreams won’t bring true joy. We should certainly chase after them with everything, but we can’t separate that from a need for people. AND, ironically, I’ve found that success in life really is often determined by who you know anyway. So, building relationships really becomes central to life and to business!
I learned that you need rest to survive. It’s never okay to be lazy, but resting and laziness are NOT the same thing. If you work hard, you earn the right to rest hard. Sometimes you will have to work hard for a long time and then rest REALLY hard for a short time, but it IS necessary. So, take a second to stop and breathe! Relax for a moment. Trust that the world won’t completely move past you because you take the time to be healthy!
I learned that confidence is one of the most important things you can possess. Talent at your craft is useful if honed into skill. You can only go so far beyond the level of skill you hold. But confidence… confidence is central to getting anywhere! It doesn’t matter if you are the most talented wedding photographer in the world! If you don’t have confidence in what you do, you can never be satisfied with where you are or what you are producing. Confidence gives you the power to reach heights you haven’t ever touched! When the world says, “Slow down. Be practical. You have done enough,” confidence boldly replies, “I can do more!” I think this is the biggest lesson I’ve learned this year. I’ve learned that if I want something, I can get it. I may not know how I’ll go about doing that when I first start, but I will do it nonetheless. I know in my core that I CAN and I WILL. After that, you just need to start with one step.
I could keep talking about different lessons I’ve been seeing… but I think I’ll stop there. After all, this post is about my favorite images from the year, not my own personal revelations. =] I’m sure I’ll be talking about the rest of them for WEEKS to come on Instagram if you’d like to follow along.
My very awesome friend and the guy designing my new website, JOE!!!
Easily in my top five favorite seniors to work with, I’ve now worked with Amanda twice and BOTH times created some of my favorite images so far.
HAHA! Another favorite senior! Kendal and I will actually be working together again in the next few weeks to do some more cityish images!
Big Spring Park in Huntsville is a FABULOUS place to get married!
I could rep these two all day but I’m just going to say that I like them a lot. =D
Weddings are fun. Being the photographer at one of your BEST FRIEND’s weddings is magical.
The second session with Amanda!
And we’ll end with a most recent favorite.
It’s been fun 2016! You were good to me in a lot of ways and somewhat sour in others. But you were fabulous all the same! See ya later!
