Every so often you hear amazing stories of love. Where two people meet, and near instantly they just… know. Well, Laurel and Alex are not one of those tales. In fact, when they first met while carpooling to one of Laurel’s sorority functions, although Alex did his best to lay on the charm, he received only a cold shoulder in return. However, a persistent pursuer, Alex continued forward, doing is best to befriend Laurel, and after only knowing her for a short weekend, he asked her on a date. Still skeptical, she “decided to give him a shot.”
Fast forward about four years and these two were still going strong. So much in fact that Alex decided it was time to take the leap. But here he hit a little bit of a snag. Being an expert romantic, he had planned to propose to Laurel during an upcoming trip they were taking to Paris. Perfect! Right?! However, despite his best efforts, Laurel discovered his plan and forced him into an audible. Thinking quickly, Alex contacted some of Laurel’s family, and through some sneaky maneuvering had her brought to Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA about a week before they were to vacation abroad. There, he stood holding a bouquet of flowers. He walked her down the path to where he had hung pictures of them together, and then he dropped to one knee, proclaimed his love, and was reciprocated by the sweetest of all words: yes.
A story of instance love? No. But a story of a man who knows how to pursue? Thankfully yes.
