On the incredibly pleasant day of February 20th, 2016, I met Anna and Caleb! Quite the intriguing pair, from the moment I met them at the beach in Colonial Yorktown, Virginia, I was instantly a fan. While spending the day running around taking pictures wherever the sun would let us, I learned a couple… interesting things about them. One, they are straight up goofy! I mean, just look at the pose they naturally chose when we taking some candidly:
Two, well… you’ll see in the photos but they just have an interesting way of relating to one another. But they are so great! These are the kind of people I would have loved to have met while I was in college! We would have had many Munchkin nights together.
I am proud to be the one who taught Caleb what an “eskimo kisses.”
The ultimate demonstration of trust. She did the Titanic with complete confidence that he man had her.
Instruction: “Anna. Act like you are dragging Caleb towards me. Caleb, be reluctant.” Both people took my instruction… Caleb just took it a little more literally.
A photographer himself, Caleb was a LITTLE bit excited when I let him play with my D80 and the 50mm. =]
I’m not sure why this colonial village has a bamboo forest next to it… but then again I’m from the south. Is bamboo a normal thing up here?
Me: “I’m impressed you were able to kiss from that position.”
Anna: “Nothing will stand in our way!”
And finally, as the sun was setting, we stopped in Yorktown itself to grab a couple photo at this here light pole.
See ya’ later my new friends. I DEARLY hope we can do something like this again in the near future, as spending time with you two is not only refreshing artistically, but quite simply just makes me enjoy being alive.
